(LONDON) Katten Muchin Rosenman UK LLP announced today that Law.com International recognized the firm for its local leadership and transatlantic growth as part of The British Legal Awards 2022, which highlights top firms in the UK’s legal community.

Selected from a field of eight finalists, Katten received the award for its legal experience in handling a significant amount of transatlantic work, innovation, strategic vision, business wins, client service, professional development, sustainable improvements in financial performance, and a commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).

"This award underscores our efforts to create a true international firm by servicing as many clients as we can on both sides of the pond," said Katten London Managing Partner Christopher Hitchins, who accepted the award during a ceremony in London. "Receiving this distinction demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing world class counsel to our clients, growing our transactional business and aligning our practices and clients more closely with the US, particularly in New York."

The 22-person judging panel determined that "Katten acted on several high value deals across multiple jurisdictions, helped resolve a $10 billion claim, and successfully worked alongside other major firms for an EU regulatory client. This is in addition to the great work it's doing to support its people and the wider London community."

Additionally, the firm highlighted its efforts to attract and retain top talent like partners Alice D'Mello, Sonya Van de Graaff, Chris Harrison and Oliver Williams—all who have joined Katten UK in the last 12 months—to help grow the firm's Corporate, Financial Markets and Funds and Insolvency and Restructuring practices. Katten's mentoring and client feedback programs, pro bono support of several local and international organizations, and ability to create a diverse, inclusive hybrid work environment were also included as examples of successful employee development and CSR programs.

The British Legal Awards are hosted by Law.com International and are considered the premier legal awards in the region, representing the best of the best within the UK's legal community. The awards were announced during a ceremony at the Royal Lancaster London on November 23.
