(CHICAGO) Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is proud to announce that partner Kevin M. Foley has been recognized by the Futures Industry Association (FIA) for his “extraordinary service” on behalf of the association. FIA is the leading trade organization for the futures, options and cleared derivatives markets. Foley has served as the FIA’s outside counsel for regulatory matters for more than 20 years.
John Damgard, president of FIA, presented Foley with a special Achievement Award at the 37th International Futures Industry Conference. Damgard spoke of Foley’s wise counsel on all matters regulatory, citing in particular his guidance in navigating the challenges confronting FIA member firms in complying with the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. “Kevin’s willingness to tackle the most difficult legal issues has helped us and the industry,” said Damgard.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Kevin and is a testament to his work and leadership on regulatory matters of critical importance to the futures industry,” said Arthur Hahn, national co-chair of Katten’s Financial Services Practice.
In addition to his work on behalf of the FIA, Foley advises a wide range of clients, both in the United States and abroad, including derivatives clearing organizations, exchanges and futures commission merchants, on regulatory compliance regarding traditional exchange-related products, swaps and other derivative instruments.
Foley is a member of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Regulation of Futures and Derivatives Instruments. He has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the FIA’s Law and Compliance Division, a member of the Business Conduct Committee of the National Futures Association, and chairman of the Chicago Bar Association Futures Regulation Law Committee. He also has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for the past five years.
