About Leonard A. Ferber

Leonard Ferber helps technology developers, manufacturers and other technology-focused businesses accomplish their core missions: developing, manufacturing, distributing and licensing their products and services. With a primary goal of getting deals done, he focuses on the most critical issues: intellectual property ownership and rights and the proper allocation of business risks vs. rewards. Having represented his share of technology "consumers," Len understands both sides' perspectives and knows where the compromises can be made.

A broad perspective on the tech industry’s legal needs

As co-head of Katten's technology and IP transactions practice, Len has represented manufacturers and distributors of products of all kinds. He brings this experience to companies developing and distributing tech-based solutions and adopting advanced manufacturing processes. His clients include early-stage and mature software and other technology companies and consulting firms, including businesses distributing technology using software-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service business models as well as those seeking to leverage their data collection capabilities. He also represents a number of large commercial companies contracting for technology products and services.

Len is active in Chicago's technology community. Len has spoken on tech-related subjects before legal and industry groups, including the Illinois Technology Association, the Technology Executives Club, Association of Technology Acquisition Professionals and Association of Corporate Counsel.
