About Robert Loewy

Robert Loewy knows that tax laws and tax transactions are complicated and can be difficult for even business savvy clients to understand. As special counsel focused on tax planning and litigation, he offers his domestic and foreign clients practical advice in terms that they can understand and act upon. Whether the tax issue is US or international, the goal is the same: to make sure that his clients' transactions are tax efficient.

Advice that produces positive outcomes

Robert's practice is both transactional and advisory, focusing on the taxation of financial instruments and products, hedge funds and private clients. He also has extensive experience in advising clients about the tax consequences of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and restructurings.

Before joining Katten, Robert worked with clients in both large institutions and smaller, family-run offices. Consequently, he understands and has experience with a wide range of business tax issues.

Robert is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
