About Thomas E. McNeill
Tom focuses his practice on commercial real estate due diligence. He has over 30 years of experience working on a wide variety of deals for the acquisition and financing of complex real estate projects. His goal is always the same — to help his client acquire or secure a real estate asset that serves their needs.
Knowledge, experience and understanding client needs help to avoid title issues
Tom is committed to performing comprehensive due diligence review for every commercial real estate transition of which he is a part. This includes reviewing title documents, title commitments and policies, surveys, zoning reports and lien searches to identify potential problems and provide practical, real-world solutions. He works with major lending organizations throughout the country. Frequently, he assists clients with multisite transactions.
Prior to joining Katten, Tom practiced with a major law firm in North Carolina. Tom also has experience as a civil litigator, corporate counsel and in-house volunteer for Legal Aid of North Carolina.
Tom was the recipient of the 2013 Legal Aid of North Carolina, Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award and the 2015 Katten – Charlotte Pro Bono Award.
