Chicago Commercial Finance associate Erica Yang was featured in the Chicago Bar Association Record for her pro bono work addressing the needs of low-income and vulnerable residents in minority communities. Recently, Erica partnered with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services to create the Lawyers Helping Our Community (LHOC) Clinic, which assists non-English speaking members of Chicago’s Chinatown community with legal issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Erica, and her co-founder Eric Zhi, an associate at Kirkland and Ellis, described the importance of giving a voice to the voiceless as attorneys.
"We hope that our Lawyers Helping Our Community clinic will inspire a shared commitment among students and professionals to support the underserved communities. Through the services we provide, our clients are encouraged to give back to the community at large," Erica and Eric said.
