About James Burke
James Burke is an associate in the Litigation practice at Katten Muchin Rosenman UK LLP and advises a variety of clients, from financial institutions to individuals. He deals with a wide range of commercial and contractual disputes concerning property, insolvency and cross-jurisdictional matters.
Offering business solutions not just legal options
Clients come to James when they either want to enforce their rights, wish to resolve a dispute or need advice to avoid the risk of future litigation. This may involve going to court for a trial, commencing arbitration proceedings or reaching a negotiated settlement. In every case, he first focuses on the client's end goal and objectives and then tries to find the most efficient and pragmatic way of reaching them.
Although he works with clients in different industries, his practice is largely focused on the real estate, finance and financial services and aviation sectors. His clients are based in the UK or as far afield as Australia or Thailand.
James also handles debt recovery work and advises clients on the risks involved in new projects to prevent any disputes from ever arising.
He trained as a barrister and worked at a top real estate disputes firm before joining Katten.
