About Kristin Lockhart

Kristin Lockhart offers clients the legal support they need to select and enforce their brands. She frequently advises clients on US and international trademark clearance, prosecution and enforcement matters involving trademarks and related IP claims, such as copyright infringement, false advertising and unfair competition. A broader perspective on intellectual property issues

Kristin splits her focus between IP prosecution and litigation, which gives her a broader perspective on the risk analyses that she offers to clients. She represents clients in the technology, telecommunications, government defense, entertainment and fashion industries. Prior to joining Katten, Kristin was a trademark associate in a boutique intellectual property law firm, where she focused on trademark clearance, prosecution and enforcement matters. During law school, Kristin worked in a leading commercial litigation firm in her hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she primarily assisted with federal trademark and copyright litigation.

During law school, Kristin served as a legal research assistant for a renowned trademark professor and additionally prepared a number of presentations that were used in conferences hosted by the American Intellectual Property Association and the International Trademark Association. She served as a Note & Comment editor for the American University Business Law Review and published a number of IP-related blogs for American University’s Intellectual Property Brief.
