Twenty years working with lenders and borrowers
Michael has been in the real estate finance arena for more than 20 years. He represents both borrowers and lenders from large High Street firms to challenger banks, alternative lenders and property funds. Michael knows real estate, finance, the market, and lenders and borrowers. He takes a pragmatic approach to deals and helps his clients throughout the lifecycle of a loan—from putting the loan in place and dealing with any consents and amendments, to assisting with the enforcement or restructure process when and if the loan gets into difficulties.
Michael often works with the same people again and again, since his transactions are good for all involved. He worked for several firms before Katten and also in-house at a large institutional lender. He was of counsel at another law firm, assisting both lenders and borrowers with the purchase of large and sometimes landmark London properties. He also worked on the restructuring of banking facilities. During this time, he was recognized by The Legal 500 for providing "insightful advice" to clients and for being "reliable."
