About Samya Abdela

Samya Abdela works on both corporate and commercial finance matters. She assists clients from a wide range of industries on private equity dealings, mergers and acquisitions, helping both buyers and sellers through all stages of M&A transactions, as well as representing administrative agents and lenders in syndicated senior secured cash flow transactions.

Working for private interests and the public good

Samya helps businesses on general corporate and corporate governance matters and also evaluates due diligence and potential risks to clients' collateral packages. She does similar work for nonprofit organizations on a pro bono basis, and also takes great pride in the immigration pro bono practice that she has developed.

Samya was chosen as Katten's 2L Diversity scholar in the summer of 2017. Now a Katten associate, she is more than fulfilling the promise she showed as a student. Before joining Katten, she was a 1L summer associate at an international law firm and worked with the in-house legal team of the Pac-12 Sports Conference in the spring of 2018.

During law school, Samya was editor-in-chief for the school's Journal of Entertainment and Sports Law. She also chaired the annual sports and society conference and served as co-president of the Law Students of African Descent.
