About Sean M. Akchin

Media conglomerates, investment firms and small businesses turn to Sean Akchin to represent them in a wide variety of commercial lawsuits and regulatory matters. As an associate in Katten’s Commercial Litigation and Entertainment and Media Litigation practices, Sean advises diverse commercial clients, including small businesses, film studios, international banks and non-profit organizations on matters involving antitrust laws, intellectual property rights, foreign investment regulations, contract disputes and bankruptcy proceedings.

Sean represents corporations in navigating the state and federal pre-merger regulations for mergers and acquisitions, helps companies enforce trademark and intellectual property rights and assists victims of Ponzi schemes on how to claw back their investments. He also has an extensive pro bono practice, representing asylum petitioners and non-profit educational organizations in civil litigation.

Sean was a high school teacher for nearly a decade before going to law school.
