About Shelby Klose
Shelby Klose concentrates her practice in corporate matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and negotiating media, sponsorship and other commercial agreements in the sports industry. Shelby also has experience representing and counseling public and private companies and private equity funds in a range of corporate transactions.
Seeing transactions through the finish line
In Shelby's sports practice, she helps counsel sports clients as they consider and effectuate major transactions such as team sales, acquisitions and investments. Shelby also works with her other sports colleagues to provide general advice and outside counsel to sports teams.
Outside of Shelby's sports practice, Shelby works with clients in diverse industries and at all stages of growth. Past clients range from fortune 500 companies to local emerging companies in Chicago. In addition, she maintains an active pro bono practice in which she advises nonprofit organizations on board governance and filing requirements.
Prior to joining Katten, Shelby was a legal intern at MLB Advanced Media and advised startups at the Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship.
During law school, Shelby was a member of the Doctoroff Business Leadership Program and served on the boards of the Women's Mentoring Program and the Entertainment and Sports Law Society.

- Advised Keystone Sports, the owner/operator of an MLS team, regarding a new credit facility to refinance its arena.
