About Zade Saad Shakir

Zade Shakir has a broad-based corporate practice with a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and transactions in the sports industry. He represents private equity firms, financial institutions, private companies, sports teams, arenas and investors in a range of transactional matters, including sales and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, sponsorship and arena-related agreements (including naming rights agreements), coach and management employment agreements, corporate governance and other corporate and commercial transactions.

Results through resolve and relationships

Prior to joining Katten, Zade was the legal intern for two different teams in the National Basketball Association and one team in Major League Baseball. He also taught high school math through Teach for America, founded a nonprofit exercise program for children with special needs and presented a TEDx Talk.

During law school, Zade served as vice president of the Student Bar Association, executive director of Professional Development for the Sports Law and Business Program, and senior articles editor for the Sports and Entertainment Law Journal. He received a number of distinctions, including being named the law school's "Outstanding Graduate."
