SCALING UP IMPACT
How Katten’s Service Is Helping
Organizations Make a Broader Impact
While many attorneys work directly with individual
clients through partnering organizations, others serve
the organizations themselves on everything from
developing organizational documents and acquiring
real estate to protecting intellectual property rights.
Attorneys from core practices support organizations,
including nonprofits and small businesses, in ways
that lead to broader impact and sometimes
economic stability and systemic change.
An example includes the cornerstone of an economic
recovery effort through Katten’s pro bono work assisting
an established theater group acquire a new building in
suburban Chicago. Additionally, private practice and
in-house counsel collaborations enable legal teams
to take on more matters for legal services agencies.
Nationally, a coalition of more than 90 law firms and
Fortune 1000 general counsel is helping mobilize pro
bono counsel to rapidly respond to Asian hate crimes.
And cross-firm initiatives leverage Katten resources
to address systemic injustices in targeted areas.
Tapping into group experience, building deeper
relationships with partnering organizations, and
leveraging talent and passion across the firm assures
Katten’s pro bono work leads not only to desired
results, but long-lasting impact.
