About George W. Carter
George Carter focuses his practice on commercial real estate finance with an emphasis on originating loans for the commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) market. He is known for helping clients find answers to complex legal questions or situations. He begins by analyzing the legal issues involved and then offering clients a succinct list of options to make it easier for them to decide how to proceed.
Achieving long-term goals depends on building long-term relationships every day
George primarily represents banks and commercial lenders making loans secured by commercial properties. These may be in connection with the acquisition of such properties or the refinancing of existing financing secured by such properties. He knows that closing deals on time and negotiating in good faith with borrowers not only strengthens professional relationships but encourages future transactions.
George appreciates that in real estate, developing positive relationships with borrowers, lenders, sellers and buyers is simply the smartest way to do business. So he treats everyone involved in a deal with the same courtesy and respect he shows toward his clients.
While in law school, George was a contributing editor on the North Carolina Journal of International Law and Commercial Regulation.
