Intellectual Property (IP) Partner and Trademark/Copyright/Privacy National Co-Chair Karen Artz Ash will be the guest speaker during “Building a Global Fashion IP Practice: A Conversation with Katten Partner Karen Artz Ash,” hosted by the Harvard Fashion Law Association at Harvard Law School on September 24. Karen, who built out her IP litigation practice with particular know-how in transactional areas, combined these skills with a deep business knowledge of the fashion industry to support the successful exploitation of brand and other IP assets for major fashion industry names, designers, manufacturers and brand management companies. In addition, she has taught IP licensing in the fashion industry as an adjunct professor for more than 15 years. Karen will share insights from her broad practice and decades of cross-border experience, including what distinguishes the breadth of fashion IP work, from protecting designers and navigating enforcement and defense decisions to building lasting relationships with global brands, and offer practical guidance for students, including 1Ls with no fashion background, on how to break into a career in fashion law.
