About Jack A. West

Jack West represents an array of financial industry participants in a broad range of transactional and corporate matters, advising clients with respect to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, fund formation, various types of employment, advising and trading agreements as well as general corporate governance issues. Regardless of the task, Jack strives to understand the business issues at stake in order to craft comprehensive and durable solutions.

Diligence in understanding client objectives

Prior to starting at Katten, Jack served as a Public Interest Law Initiative graduate fellow at Loyola University’s Business Law Clinic. He helped nonprofits and startups navigate the formation process, handle general corporate matters, and properly obtain tax-exempt status when applicable.

While in law school, Jack was the chief articles editor of the Washington University Law Review, a student consultant for a Fintech startup and a judicial extern for the Honorable Raymond W. Gruender of the US Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Additionally, Jack earned CALI Awards for Excellence in Contracts, Law & Economics, Corporations and Financial Regulation: Law & Policy.
