About Joseph R. Shealy

Joe Shealy is an associate in the Structured Finance and Corporate practices. He represents issuers, underwriters and investors in asset-backed securitizations and other structured finance transactions, with an emphasis on prime and subprime automobile loan and lease, dealer floorplan receivables, commercial mortgage-backed securities, equipment lease securitizations and warehouse facilities.

Helping clients secure funding

Joe uses his broad experience to help guide clients through complex structured finance transactions, offering timely and practical advice. With his help, they are able to reduce exposure and secure more predictable, cost-efficient funding to help expand their businesses.

Joe also works on corporate transactions, primarily handling mergers and acquisitions for local and regional business in the Southeast. He also deals with corporate structuring and governance issues, drafting of corporate documents and other general corporate matters. Joe also has experience in the establishment and governance of 501(c) nonprofit organizations.

While in law school, Joe served on and was published in the North Carolina Law Review.
