About Julia L. Mazur

Julia represents clients in a wide variety of industries, including food and beverage, technology, fashion, entertainment, hospitality, consumer goods and life sciences. She seeks to efficiently obtain the best results for her clients, tailored to their unique business needs.

Julia helps clients through all phases of complex civil litigation, from pleadings and preliminary injunctions through trial and appeals. She has served as counsel in litigations in district courts throughout the United States, as well as in the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), and has been mentioned in several articles in professional journals regarding cases in which she played an active role. Julia has worked on creative settlements to avoid or end disputes, participated in numerous mediations, and has assisted a mediator to settle several intellectual property cases.

Apart from litigation, Julia counsels clients on a wide range of other issues, including minimizing the risk of disputes and strengthening intellectual property rights, as well as providing clearance opinions and assisting clients with trademark prosecution and registration.

Julia is also committed to her pro bono practice. She helped secure the release of a client who had been wrongfully imprisoned for more than 24 years, and has also applied her trademark law knowledge to counsel pro bono clients through their rebranding efforts and the federal and state trademark registration processes. Additionally, Julia is currently a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and an active member of Chicago Women in IP (ChiWIP).

While in law school, Julia completed an externship with the Honorable Samuel Der-Yeghiayan of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and worked at the Exoneration Project.
