A Katten team led by Mergers and Acquisitions Partner and Co-Chair Christopher Atkinson and Capital Markets Senior Counsel and Co-Chair Lawrence Levin represented Perdoceo Education Corporation (Perdoceo) in its acquisition of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences (USAHS).
Perdoceo acquired USAHS for cash consideration of approximately $138 million (net of cash acquired), which is subject to customary post-closing adjustments and escrow arrangements.
Perdoceo, a provider of postsecondary education, adds USAHS to its portfolio of accredited academic institutions. USAHS offers graduate health sciences degrees, primarily in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language therapy and nursing. It was founded in 1979 and has a network of campuses in Florida, California and Texas.
The acquisition bolsters Perdoceo's industry-relevant and career-focused in-person, online and hybrid academic programming.
