Managing Intellectual Property (Managing IP) recognized Katten and several of its Intellectual Property (IP) attorneys in the 2026 IP STARS rankings, highlighting the strength of the firm's trademark, copyright and patent practices.
The 2026 Patent Stars include Partners Deepro Mukerjee, chair of Katten's global Intellectual Property Department, Lance Soderstrom and Brian Sodikoff, Patent Litigation co-chairs. This year's Trademark Stars include Partners Karen Artz Ash, also named among the Top 250 Women in IP 2026, and Floyd Mandell, co-chairs of Katten's Trademark/Copyright/Privacy Group; Kristin Achterhof, co-chair of the firm's Advertising and Brand Litigation Group; and Partner Bret Danow.
Additionally, Katten was recognized as a Recommended Firm, having been ranked for more than 10 years. The firm earned rankings in Copyright & Related Rights, Trademark Disputes and Trademark Prosecution, and was listed among "Other Notable Firms" for Life Sciences IP.
The U.S. recognitions build on Katten’s 2026 IP STARS momentum in the United Kingdom earlier this year, where London-based IP attorney Nathan Smith was named a Notable Practitioner. "IP STARS Names Nathan Smith to 2026 Edition."
