About Michael J. Chiusano

Named a Texas Rising Star two years in a row by Super Lawyers, Michael Chiusano represents his clients in complex commercial litigation and business disputes. As a litigator focusing on mergers-and-acquisition litigation, Michael is equipped to counsel corporate and litigation clients regarding all phases of the significant asset purchase or sale, including drafting and interpreting purchasing agreements, evaluating risk, preserving privilege during due diligence, investigating potential claims, making pre-suit indemnity demands, pursuing alternatives to litigation, and pursuing contract, common-law and fraud-based claims on behalf of buyers and sellers alike.

A rising star in complex commercial litigation

Michael also litigates closely held business disputes and prosecutes common-law and constitution- and statute-based claims arising from anticompetitive business practices.

At prior firms, Michael handled construction litigation involving mechanic's and materialmen's lien disputes, defending sureties against performance- and payment-bond claims and prosecuting indemnity actions on sureties' behalf. He has also represented national banks in litigation stemming from residential mortgage loans, including wrongful foreclosure, debt-collection-practices and lien-priority matters.

While in law school, Michael served as senior articles editor for the Environmental Law Journal and as a member of the Moot Court Executive Board.
