Financial Markets and Funds Partner Edward Tran will speak on the "Pulling Up the Drawbridge: Regulation of In-bound and Out-bound Investments in the United States" panel discussion at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, during the NAPABA 2025 Convention. Panelists will discuss the concerns and regulation of both inbound and outbound investment in the United States with recent heightened security concerns and the challenging geopolitical dynamic. Discussion topics will include:
- How advisors and investors navigate challenging restrictions in a fast-moving and evolving regulatory environment, as many of the underlying concerns focus on technology and certain countries, and amidst this dynamic environment recent US regulations have sought to apply restrictions on both private and public investments in foreign companies.
- The implications of recent regulations which relate to the issues above, and practical measures which may need to be considered in light of the rapidly evolving situation.
- The challenges US investors face when making investments in other jurisdictions in areas which are currently considered to be sensitive, including, in particular, technology.
