About Peter P. Knight

With decades of experience, Peter Knight represents individual creditors and lender groups at all levels of the capital structure — in out-of-court restructurings, bankruptcy proceedings and various special situations transactions. Peter has built a strong market reputation for representing senior secured agents and lenders in middle market workouts and restructurings.

Restructuring with an eye on minimizing risk, cost and delay

Peter has substantial experience representing clients in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings as well as developing and implementing non-bankruptcy restructuring strategies that help clients achieve their business objectives while avoiding cost, delay and risk attendant to the bankruptcy process. Such strategies include Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) foreclosure transactions, receivership proceedings, assignments for the benefit of creditors, exchange offers, rights offerings and various rescue financing and other special situations transactions.

Peter also has a strong commitment to pro bono service and has worked with organizations such as the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, Ascend Justice (formerly the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic), the Texas DNA Mixture Review Project and the National Veterans Legal Services Program.
