Katten is currently accepting applications from 1Ls for a 1L/2L summer position in our 2026 and 2027 Summer Associate Programs or a 2L summer position in our 2027 Summer Associate Program. Click here to submit your application. Additional details on each position can be found below.
Candidates are encouraged to apply in accordance with their law school’s recruiting guidelines. Timing of interviews will vary by office. Offer decisions will be made after fall semester grades are available.
1L (Summer 2026) & 2L Summer Associate (Summer 2027) — Available in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, DC
Katten is accepting applications from law students in the graduating class of 2028 who are interested in both a 1L (Summer 2026) and a 2L (Summer 2027) position. Full participation in both programs is required. Students who are interested in Chicago and/or New York are also encouraged to apply for a 2027 2L Summer Associate position as joint 1L/2L opportunities are limited.
Compensation for this position is based off of an annualized salary of $225,000 per year for the 10 week program. Candidates who accept an offer for their 1L and 2L summers will be eligible to receive a scholarship in the total amount of $12,500.
2L Summer Associate (2027 Summer Only) — Available in Chicago and New York
Katten is accepting applications from law students in the graduating class of 2028 who are interested only in a 2L position in our 2027 Summer Program. Interviews for this position will be conducted on a rolling basis beginning in January 2026.
Compensation for this position is based off of an annualized salary of $225,000 per year for the 10 week program.
