About Sunay Radia

Sunay Radia guides clients through some of the most complex and high-profile financial restructurings in the United Kingdom and Europe. He works with trustees, security agents, insolvency practitioners, credit funds and private equity sponsors on high-yield bond and leveraged buyout (LBO) workouts, refinancings, consensual and nonconsensual restructurings, enforcements and distressed asset sales.

Navigating distress across the capital structure

Sunay’s background in leveraged finance gives him a clear perspective of how debt is structured, and how best to restructure or enforce it. He has a market-leading practice representing trustees and security agents in large-cap restructurings, restructuring plans, schemes of arrangement, recapitalizations and enforcements, and has advised on many of the most significant European restructurings of recent years. Leveraging that experience, Sunay provides clients with early insight into how situations are likely to unfold and practical guidance on protecting their position at each stage.

Clients return to Sunay for counsel time and time again, and many of his relationships span a decade or more. He acts for lenders and insolvency practitioners in administrations, receiverships, pre-packaged sales and enforcement processes. He also helps credit funds and private equity sponsors manage stressed portfolio assets through contingency planning, restructurings and enforcement sales.

Steady, practical counsel at the center of Europe's largest restructurings

With extensive cross-border experience, including the European aspects of US Chapter 11 cases, Sunay helps clients navigate situations that span London, continental Europe and the United States. Clients value his combination of technical depth and senior, hands-on attention, as well as his ability to bring in finance, funds, litigation and corporate colleagues when needed.

Sunay has been recognised by Legal 500 UK and Global Restructuring Review, among other industry recognitions, and is a frequent contributor to publications such as International Corporate Rescue.
