Katten's Trademark/Copyright/Privacy Co-Chair Floyd Mandell was selected as a finalist in the Best Mentor category of The American Lawyer Industry Awards, which honor outstanding achievements in the legal profession.

Specifically, the Best Mentor Award will honor someone who has dedicated a significant portion of their time and energy to mentoring younger professionals.

Floyd has mentored generations of attorneys, including those who went on to become judges and law professors, while maintaining a successful practice representing some of the world’s most recognizable companies in matters involving copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, trade dress, false advertising and defamation.

He has previously been a finalist for Katten's John P. Sieger Excellence in Mentoring Award. Floyd was also named a Law360 Intellectual Property MVP in 2012 and 2019, and one of its 10 Most Admired Intellectual Property Attorneys, and in 2014, one of the National Law Journal's Top 50 Intellectual Property Trailblazers & Pioneers. In addition, Floyd has been recognized in the Chambers Global guide and has consistently received the highest individual ranking possible in the Chambers USA guide.

Floyd will be honored on November 12 at The American Lawyer's annual gala in New York, where the winner will be announced. Other featured awards at the event include Best Law Firm of the Year, Attorney of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Litigator of the Year, Managing Partner of the Year and Law Firm Corporate Practices of the Year.
