About Vinny Baumann

Vinny Baumann focuses his practice on affordable housing transactions involving tax-exempt bond financing. Vinny’s experience includes financings under Freddie Mac's Tax-Exempt Loan program, Freddie Mac’s Bond Credit Enhancement program and private bond placements (including representation of bond underwriters and bond purchasers), and spans both private activity bonds in 4 percent low-income housing tax credit transactions as well as 501(c)(3) bonds. He has also assisted national lenders with the development of private placement programs for originating loans funded with the proceeds of tax-exempt bonds.

In addition, Vinny works with national mortgage lenders on US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) regulatory compliance issues, including enforcement matters brought before the Mortgagee Review Board, lender restructurings, Quality Control Plan compliance, Identity-of-Interest approvals and other matters requiring HUD approval.

Experience that lends itself to a depth of knowledge

Vinny has also represented multifamily lenders utilizing FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan programs. Vinny has experience as lender's counsel on FHA loans under both the Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) and LEAN programs. Prior to becoming an attorney, Vinny worked for a variety of offices in the US Department of Housing and Urban Development including the Office of Multifamily Insured Housing, the Office of Program Enforcement, and the Office of Fair Housing.
