David Weisman, a partner in the firm's White Collar Defense, Internal Investigations and Compliance Practice, has been awarded a U.S. Department of Justice Director's Award for Superior Performance for his prosecution work as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois in United States v. Jon Burge. Mr. Weisman served as the lead prosecutor in the trial of former Chicago Police Department Commander Jon Burge, who was convicted of perjury related to police torture allegations dating back to the 1970s. Mr. Weisman will be honored along with other recipients at the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys Director's Awards Ceremony in Washington, D.C., on December 9.
