Partner Robert McLaughlin will co-chair the conference “Developing Issues in Derivatives Law 2009” at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18.
The conference will provide an analysis of new federal and state over-the-counter derivatives regulatory and legislative developments, including those affecting credit default swaps and centralized derivatives clearinghouses. It will also examine lessons learned from the Lehman bankruptcies concerning swaps and other derivatives trading agreements, including unanticipated collateral issues, rehypothecation issues, nuances of master netting agreements, secured interests, and the use of custody and control agreements. There will also be a review of litigation developments concerning derivatives transactions.
