Kristin Holland, a partner in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice, and Kamilah Smith, an associate in the Corporate Practice, successfully obtained approval of a U-visa on behalf of pro bono client Angelina M. Angelina petitioned the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for U nonimmigrant status based on consistent physical and sexual abuse she endured during a 10-year relationship. As a result of the USCIS decision, she can continue to work and reside in the United States for a period of up to four years and may apply for lawful permanent residence after three years.
