Julie Gottshall, a partner in the Firm's Labor and Employment Practice, was quoted in an Inside Counsel article about the recent lawsuit Walgreen's faced when ordering pharmacists to comply with Governor Blagojevich's emergency action requiring fullfillment of birth control and emergency contraceptives prescriptions. Gottshall explained that the conflict between the governor's emergency action and the Illinois Health Right of Conscience Act, which allows pharmacists to decline to fill a prescription on moral grounds, has not been well interpreted yet ("Conscience Clause Puts Walgreen's in a Tight Spot," November 2006).
