The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) developed a Group Mentoring Program (GMP) as another way for successful attorneys from LCLD member organizations to share experiences, advice and support with diverse law students at any stage of their law school experience. The GMP's inaugural mentoring session in Chicago, which will take place from 4:00–6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, is designed to provide practical tools and tips for building confidence and turning networks and networking events into treasure hunts for new relationships that can lead to job opportunities and new clients over time. Featuring a presentation from Deborah Knupp of Akina Corporation, the program also will address how to overcome the fear and discomfort experienced when attempting to network with family and friends for the purposes of job hunting or business development.
