Making financing matters clear and practical
David advises on public and private asset-backed financing transactions, representing issuers, purchasers, borrowers and lenders, with a particular focus on assisting sellers in residential mortgage repurchase transactions. His broader structured finance experience includes work on securitizations backed by automotive and other consumer loan collateral, as well as a variety of financings, including forward-flow arrangements, revolving and term credit facilities.
David maintains a robust pro bono practice, primarily representing underrepresented entrepreneurs and small-business owners throughout New York City. His work at Katten includes successfully defending a fourth-generation family-owned butcher shop in Little Italy in an ADA compliance lawsuit and securing 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status for a new immigrant orientation organization. While in law school, he was a New York pro bono scholar at Volunteers of Legal Service's Microenterprise Project and represented under-resourced entrepreneurs in New York City on matters involving city, state and federal regulatory compliance; entity formation and registration; and contract issues.
David was the submissions editor for the Cardozo Law Review and a Heyman Scholar for Corporate Law and Governance.
