This article discusses how the commercial aviation industry has benefited since trade restrictions were lifted in Iran due to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action’s Implementation Day in early 2016. Opportunities were slow to develop initially, but since September the commercial aircraft market has been gradually opening as US and European companies have received licenses from the US Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) to proceed with sales and leases of aircraft to Iran Air.
