About Jessica A. Killeen

Jessica Killeen represents clients in complex commercial litigation, including construction and commercial real estate disputes. Drawing on her experience as a federal judicial law clerk, she brings valuable insight into how courts evaluate legal arguments, assess evidence, and resolve contested issues. She combines meticulous preparation, strategic analysis, and creative problem-solving to help clients navigate challenging disputes and achieve favorable outcomes.

Creative advocacy grounded in meticulous preparation

Jessica’s passion for litigation is rooted in her ability to cut through complex legal questions, tackle clients’ toughest legal challenges, and fight relentlessly for her clients’ best interests. Before joining Katten, she served as a federal judicial law clerk in the US District Court for the District of Maryland, where she worked on civil litigation matters involving complex commercial disputes, discovery disputes, and constitutional issues. She previously served as an Attorney Advisor in the US Department of Labor’s Office of Administrative Law Judges, handling administrative law matters involving complex statutory and regulatory frameworks.

These experiences give Jessica firsthand insight into how judges and adjudicators approach disputes, which she uses to help clients anticipate how their arguments will be received, build persuasive records, and make informed decisions at every stage of litigation. During law school, Jessica completed federal civil litigation internships with the US Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, the US Department of the Interior’s Office of Adjudication, Compliance and Equity, the Civil Division of the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and Disability Rights DC.

Jessica holds a graduate certificate in international commercial arbitration from American University Washington College of Law and is trained in mediation by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. As a co-chair of multiple committees in the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia, she organizes and moderates panel discussions, mentors junior attorneys, and creates opportunities for lawyers to build connections across the DC legal community.
