Katten is pleased to announce that Financial Markets and Funds Partner Stephen Morris has been elected to serve on the Futures Industry Association (FIA) Law & Compliance Executive Committee. Steve will serve a two-year term on the committee, which monitors legal and regulatory developments in the futures and derivatives industry. The committee assists the FIA in informing regulators and courts to guide decisions impacting the futures and cleared swaps community.
Bringing a wealth of experience to his role, Steve's deep understanding of the future and derivatives business objectives and regulatory challenges makes him a trusted advisor to the FIA and his clients. He is well-versed in the complexities of executing and clearing futures, equity options, and cleared swaps. Prior to Katten, he served as in-house counsel at a leading multinational financial institution and as a trial attorney with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and he spent over 14 years as a senior in-house coverage attorney for a top-tier broker-dealer/futures commission merchant.
Katten also congratulates Partner and Financial Markets and Regulation Co-Chair Daniel Davis, who has just completed his two-year term on the Law & Compliance Executive Committee. Dan's contributions have been instrumental in driving key initiatives and fostering collaboration among futures industry leaders.
