(CHICAGO) Katten announced today that the firm was selected by the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms as the recipient of the 2023 Diversity Award in the Change Agent category.
"We are intentional and strategic in our efforts to invest in our talented attorneys and build a pipeline of firm leaders," said Katten's Chief Diversity Partner Leslie D. Minier. "We aim to be a catalyst for meaningful change. We will accomplish this through a more diverse workforce and inclusive culture where career-advancing opportunities are equitably distributed and accessible to all."
The award, presented on Wednesday, recognizes the firm for its mentoring, professional development programs, work allocation systems, DEI billable hour credits and/or partner business development programs.
Katten's Kattalyst sponsorship program is a key component of DEI program offerings at the firm. Kattalyst is designed to support high-performing, historically underrepresented attorneys and provides professional development opportunities to support their career advancement. Since the sponsorship program launched in 2021, Kattalyst has been expanded to include participants at the associate, counsel and partner levels. They are paired with senior partners and firm leaders in a yearlong curriculum that further seeks to improve the diversity of Katten's leadership ranks by offering training and coaching that can enhance leadership, management, relationship building and business development skills.
