Kimberly Smith Recognized Among 2024's Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A

For the fourth consecutive year, Kimberly Smith has been named by Mergers & Acquisitions to its list of the Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A. Mergers & Acquisitions notes its 2024 class of 16 dealmaking professionals is "leading the way in driving change as role models and mentors to other women."

As global chair of Katten's Corporate department, Kimberly leads more than 140 attorneys throughout the US, UK and China in what has become a top-tier national mid-market practice. She is widely recognized for her work representing private equity funds, family offices, independent sponsors and other clients. She works with clients on leveraged buyouts, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other investments across multiple industries, from healthcare and technology to business services and manufacturing. Kimberly also serves on Katten's Executive Committee and its Board of Directors.

In her Mergers & Acquisitions profile, Kimberly emphasized the importance of working to increase diversity in the legal profession and, more broadly, in the private equity industry. "Women are underrepresented in leadership roles at many private equity firms, so when I see someone emerging as a leader, I am prepared to offer my assistance in whatever way I can to help them reach those senior positions," she said.
