Mergers & Acquisitions Magazine has named Kimberly Smith, partner and global chair of Katten's Corporate department, to its 2022 class of Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A. Marking Kimberly's second time receiving this honor, the list identifies "the best and the brightest female dealmakers, including: corporate dealmakers, private equity investors, investment bankers, lenders, attorneys, and other advisors."
In announcing the list of 24 honorees, the magazine noted that this year's class "demonstrates leadership both inside and outside of their firms, a focus on critical issues important to their clients, and a commitment to give back as role models and mentors."
"These successful dealmakers are not only trailblazers for other women, but the M&A industry as a whole," Mergers & Acquisitions Magazine noted.
In a related Q&A, Kimberly discussed a recent dealmaking accomplishment and noted her commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
"A high priority for me is to grow the corporate group by recruiting and adding talented associates and experienced partners to the team though targeted, strategic recruiting initiatives," she said. "Over the past year, I have worked hard to boost the number of diverse attorneys in my group."
