Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP's Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity will serve as a sponsor to the Mexican American Bar Foundation's 2008 Annual Awards Gala on Saturday, June 14 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Since 1991, the Foundation has awarded over $400,000 in scholarships based on academic achievement, community service, and financial need to more than 250 students attending law schools in Los Angeles County. Most of the sponsorship winners are the sons and daughters of low-income immigrants.
This year they will recognize Regina Montoya, Chief Executive Officer of the New American Alliance (Pioneer for Justice Award); Stephen D. Yslas, Corporate Vice President, Secretary, and Deputy General Counsel of Northrop Grumman Corporation (Professional Achievement Award); and William D. Lansford, the Hollywood Writer Latino Veterans’ Activist who was profiled in the Ken Burns/PBS Documentary “The War” (Community Service Award).
