Financial Markets and Funds Partner Susan Light will participate in the "Ethics in Banking Law" panel at 9:15 a.m. (ET) on Tuesday, February 11. Panelists will discuss the legal ethics rules that are frequently in play when working in the banking industry, and in particular the transactional perspective. After completing this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify their roles as attorneys and the legal ethics rules that apply to these roles. They will be able to examine their practices and identify when they are serving as a confidential communicant or a strict legal adviser.
- Recognize the complicated issues that in-house counsel may confront.
- Understand when attorneys are obligated to report wrongdoing and how to do so without jeopardizing their duty of confidentiality with the client.
