About Timothy R. Knudsen
Timothy Knudsen is an associate in the Corporate practice. He focuses on private equity investments, venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions as well as general corporate counseling across a wide variety of industries.
Helping the helpless builds a stronger society for us all
Timothy was awarded the 2018 Katten Service Award and has been recognized as a leader in the Chicago community for pro bono work including representing asylum seekers in legal proceedings. He also counsels and obtains tax-exempt status for local not-for-profit corporations. In addition, he serves as a trusted advisor on political campaigns and to several leaders in local Chicago politics.
Prior to joining Katten, Timothy served as a law clerk to Senator Richard Joseph "Dick" Durbin for the US Senate Judiciary Committee. During the summer of 2015, he served as a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) fellow and advocated for domestic violence victims.
While in law school, Timothy was the admissions editor for the Illinois Law Review. He also served as student body vice president and as chair of the Community and Governmental Affairs Committee.
