KATTEN OFFICE VOLUNTEERS TIME, MONEY AND COUNSEL
TO HELP THOSE IMPACTED BY THE LA FIRE
Katten’s Los Angeles (LA) office mobilized to support victims of the Eaton Fire through donations and extensive volunteer efforts.
On March 9, a team led by Private Credit Partner Jan Harris Cate joined the Downtown LA YMCA to distribute over 400 laptops,
1,000 hotspots and household items to families displaced by the fires. Beyond hands-on assistance, Katten donated $50,000 each
to the YMCA of Metropolitan LA and Habitat for Humanity of Greater LA (Habitat LA) to support emergency shelter and long-
term rebuilding through Habitat LA’s ReBUILD LA campaign. LA Entertainment and Media Partner Scott Cutrow coordinated
these efforts, including drop-in clinics with external organizations to help attorneys learn the FEMA claims process, as well as
collaboration with pro bono partners to provide legal aid related to combating predatory rental price gouging. Katten also assisted
the Inner City Law Center (ICLC) with the recovery of vital documents, with Litigation Partner Paul Yong participating in an ICLC
Vital Documents Clinic to help clients obtain driver’s licenses and passports lost in the fires.
Other Katten participants included Human Resources Manager Nicole Callanan, Private Wealth Legal Executive Assistant
Christy Corpuz, Litigation Legal Executive Assistant Marsha Davis, Real Estate Legal Executive Assistant Julie Ford, Docket
