John Paniaguas, a partner in the Firm's Intellectual Property Practice, was quoted in an article in Wall Street Journal on the process of obtaining patents in China. In the article, Mr. Paniaguas notes that, “getting a Chinese patent roughly costs U.S. businesses $15,000 to $20,000 -- factoring in the filing, legal and language-translation fees involved -- and takes about two or three years" (“Getting a Patent in China,” August 28, 2007).
