Chicago Real Estate partner Kenneth Jacobson will serve as a panelist during a session of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL) 2017 Annual Meeting entitled, "Keeping Your Interests Secure: UCC Article 9 Opinion Practice for 'Dirt' Lawyers (It's Harder Than It Looks)," on October 21, 2017. The session will focus on:
- what are the purpose and traps of a UCC Article 9 security interest opinion; and
- what are the assumptions, qualifications and diligence required to provide a UCC Article 9 security interest opinion and how do those assumptions, qualifications and diligence vary across different types of collateral.
