About Camille A. Brooks

Camille Brooks defends banks, credit unions, commercial landlords and other large companies in the ever-evolving world of consumer class actions.

Defending clients with diligence and dedication

Camille’s practice is deeply focused on class action defense and other complex litigation in federal and state courts throughout the country. For her retail banking clients, she has spent the last several years litigating overdraft-fee class actions. She also regularly defends against other consumer-related claims, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and discriminatory lending claims. In her home state of California, where privacy trends typically originate, Camille is experienced in defending against various invasion of privacy claims.

Additionally, Camille advises clients on how to mitigate against class action risk and regulatory scrutiny. Her approach to client service includes sitting with them to understand their business practices, and then revising their consumer contracts and disclosures and recommending practice changes to protect against any perceived risks.

Further, Camille regularly assists clients with implementing arbitration provisions and class action waivers. She has significant experience enforcing these provisions in courts across the country, and should the enforcement of these provisions lead to the filing of arbitrations, Camille has successfully defended her clients in consumer arbitration proceedings.

Camille is also actively involved in pro bono matters and the mentorship of associates in the Los Angeles office. While attending law school, Camille was a senior editor for the Southern California Law Review.
