For a fifth year, D CEO named Dallas Managing Partner Mark Solomon to its 2023 edition of the Dallas 500, which features the "most powerful and influential business leaders in North Texas."
In its eighth year, the Dallas 500 is the culmination of months of research and interviews by D CEO editors. The honorees were recognized during an exclusive reception at The Mason Dallas on November 16.
Mark, who has more than 30 years of experience in corporate law, joined Katten in 2018 as the managing partner of our then-new Dallas office and among the fastest growing in the city, growing from 10 to 63 attorneys in less than five years. Having been on both sides of the table, Mark understands the unique business environment of North Texas while representing clients with operations all around the world. His relationships with leaders throughout the community give him further insights into relevant business forces in the region and beyond.
Under Mark’s leadership, the Dallas office has attracted and retained leading attorneys in key growth areas. Notably, he recently established a significant new client offering in Dallas by establishing a private wealth practice with the addition of high-net-worth partner Kevin Keen. He also has brought on several key partners: Eli Burriss, a skilled health care-related litigator; Olga Gurtovaya, an experienced commercial real estate transactional attorney; and Dilen Kumar, a stand-out mergers and acquisitions/private equity attorney with White House experience. Chambers has recognized the Dallas office in four practice areas and US News’s Best Law Firms lauded seven practice areas.
In addition to achieving remarkable results for clients across the firm’s Corporate, Health Care, Private Credit, Litigation and Insolvency and Restructuring practices, the Dallas office has continued its commitment to diversity and inclusion as well as health and wellness. As a result of Mark’s efforts, the firm has earned two consecutive Best Place to Work in North Texas awards by the Dallas Business Journal.
Distinguished for his legal work, Mark is listed among the Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers and the Legal 500, ranked by Chambers USA and recognized by D Magazine as one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas. Mark also is active in the community and the bar, including the Dallas Bar Association, American Bar Association and Attorneys Serving the Community, where he previously served as honorary co-chair.
