About Giselle Vivas

Giselle Vivas concentrates her practice on structured finance, asset-backed securitizations and energy-related transactions. She represents issuers, underwriters, lenders and other market participants in the United States and abroad.

Experienced transactional counsel with cross-border perspective

Giselle works on a wide range of securitization and other complex structured finance transactions, including cross-border transactions backed by residential mortgages and other similar assets.

Giselle has significant experience in the energy sector and currently advises a diverse range of clients in energy hedging transactions and power purchase arrangements.

Prior to joining Katten, Giselle was in-house legal counsel at an energy company with a presence in Latin America, where she oversaw legal matters relating to the company's generating facilities and developed a deep understanding of the energy markets and energy-related contracts.

In addition, Giselle was previously an associate at a Spain-based firm focused on energy distribution issues and the energy wholesale/retail market. While serving in this role, Giselle assisted in the representation of two major trade organizations that represent hundreds of European gas and electricity distribution companies.
