(NEW YORK) Katten announced today that Loren R. Lembo has joined as a partner in the firm's Transactional Tax Planning practice, growing the roster of talented attorneys based in the New York office.

"Loren strengthens our ability to deliver strategic, tax-efficient solutions on the most sophisticated matters for our clients," said Saul E. Rudo, chair of Katten's Transactional Tax Planning practice. "Her broad skillset and capabilities in navigating complex tax structures will be an asset across several of our firm practices."

Lembo is a highly respected tax advisor who focuses her practice on domestic and international tax matters in the financial services space. She brings deep experience guiding sponsors and managers on the tax aspects of forming and operating domestic and offshore investment funds — including private equity funds, hedge funds and fund-of-funds — and structuring transactions across the investment lifecycle, from acquisitions and exits to fund operations.

She also regularly counsels institutional investors on the tax implications of their investments in private funds and managed accounts. She has considerable experience conducting fund reviews for sovereign wealth funds.

Additionally, Lembo has extensive experience advising clients on a broad range of complex tax matters, including with respect to mergers and acquisitions, corporate and partnership restructurings, joint ventures, and financing and capital market transactions.

"We’re so excited to welcome Loren to our office at 50 Rock in the iconic Rockefeller Center. Loren's depth and breadth of experience in handling complex tax matters adds to Katten's US bench and further enhances our ability to deliver high-value, client-focused counsel from the financial capital of the world," said New York Managing Partner Wendy E. Cohen.

Before joining Katten, Lembo was a tax attorney at two of the top five Am Law 100 firms. She has an active pro bono practice, advising charities applying for tax-exempt status.
